The City of Stockholm is constantly developing. We strive for accessibility for all citizens and make sure Stockholm is a sustainable, innovative and versatile city. Every municipality in Sweden has an elected council that collects income tax and provides public services, utilities, housing, and cultural activities.
The City Council of Stockholm is the supreme decision-making body in the municipality. For certain tasks of a fundamentally local character, each county has an elected County Council. The County Council is responsible for healthcare, dental care, public transport, infrastructure and regional development.

Region Stockholm is responsible for healthcare, public transport and regional development in Stockholm County 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also contribute to cultural life. We have 48,000 employees spanning about one hundred different professions.
When you need medical aid or advice, our health services are always close to hand. Stockholm County’s public transport shall offer extensive coverage, easy access and a sense of security. We contribute to cultural experiences, local associations, sports and popular education for all stages of life and throughout the county.

Achieving societal impact, alongside scientific excellence and education, requires strong partnerships with these stakeholders. To support this, Digital Futures has established the Industrial and Societal Partnership Programme (ISPP), creating a dynamic ecosystem of collaboration.
Through this program, partners find a platform to identify shared technologies and challenges, fostering multi-partner collaborations aligned with academic excellence.
