As an organizer, Digitalize in Stockholm works hard to reduce the environmental and climate impact when planning this event. However, a conference of this size will inevitably have an environmental footprint due to the number of participants. This includes increased travel, food consumption, and waste.

To help reduce this impact, we encourage our partners to act in a sustainable and responsible manner.

SUSTAINABLE MEASURES

The event works to have limited impact on the environment through careful consumption of energy and resources. This includes electronically distributed meeting materials and online file sharing. We do not produce unnecessary event materials and products and if so, choose environmentally and socially friendly products. We make active choices to provide healthy and climate-smart food at the event. Although a fully sustainable meeting requires more preparation, it is worth the effort, as all measures can contribute to a positive impact on the environment and generate sustainable solutions for reducing climate impact.

These guidelines are provided to participants, contributors, exhibitors and entrepreneurs at the event and aim to educate and inspire continued reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. These guidelines are continuously evaluated, as technology and mitigation options continue to change.

Münchenbryggeriet not only in our deep historical roots but also in our commitment to shaping a greener future. We recognize the importance of immediate actions to preserve our tomorrow and are fully aware that conferences, events, exhibitions, banquets, and travel impact our planet. We take this responsibility very seriously. Our initiatives support several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on Goals 8, 11, and 12.

Sustainability permeates almost everything in Stockholm. Here are some tips for your visit to one of Europe’s leading environmental cities!

Stockholm is at the forefront when it comes to sustainability. Smart solutions that protect the climate and nature are visible everywhere and have become a natural part of everyday life. From public transport, climate adaptations at the city’s attractions, to the range of shops and restaurants that focus on locally grown ingredients and sustainable products. More and more people are also concerned that their stay in a city should have as little, or no, impact on the environment.

SUSTAINABILITY VISION

Setting the tone as a leading event in the industry, digitalizeinsthlm local partner organisations recognises that we have a responsibility to preserve the environment and will endeavor to perform environmental management based on a good balance between environmental conservation and business development.

We will also proactively disseminate information and proposals to the public in order to contribute to the realisation and expansion of a sustainable society, as a good corporate citizen.

We hope and think that the digitalizeinsthlm event will aspire to a sustainable focus for future events as well.

  • SOME THINGS WE DO

    • Choose meeting facilities and other suppliers that have active sustainability work, good accessibility and are centrally located and easily accessible to local transport.
    • Recommend hotels that have active environmental work and are either environmentally certified or Nordic Ecolabelled.
    • During this event we  offer at least one vegetarian menu and with regard to the climate no red meat will be served in connection with the meeting.
    • Swedish tap water is of high quality and will be available throughout the facility. We avoid bottled water.
    • The congress facility provides waste sorting bins in the concongress area and sorts and recycles waste.
    • Event information is provided online and via the event app.
    • The delegate passes are made of paper (FSC certified) instead of plastic.

  • WHAT YOU CAN DO AS A VISITOR

    Traveling sustainably in Stockholm is convenient due to the city’s excellent infrastructure and commitment to eco-friendly options. Here are some sustainable measures a person can take:

    • Travel by train to Stockholm. Long-distance buses also arrive directly at Central Station. Avoid flying.
    • Follow the instructions on waste separation at the conference facility and at your accommodation.
    • Stockholm tap water is of high quality. Choose this instead of bottled water. Bring your own bottles and fill them with tap water.
